Sailor is a popular clothing brand in Bangladesh. For their new outlet at Wari in Dhaka, they wanted to put a mural to create the brand identity. Wari is a significant area in old Dhaka both historically and culturally. It is one of the most elegant residential areas since the British Colonial period. Wari can be a showcase of urban planning in Dhaka. It has a rich history and some important infrastructural development, such as Baldha Garden. In 1905, as Dhaka regained its status as the capital of East Bengal after several centuries, various efforts were taken to beautify the new capital. Narendra Narayan Chowdhury, zamindar of Dhaka’s Baldha area (now in Gazipur) took the initiative to establish a massive botanical garden in Dhaka’s Wari area which, at that time, was the city’s richest part. Supervised by the world’s best curators from England, the garden was established in 1909. Nearby is an old Christian Cemetery in Narinda. Wari Club is one of the oldest football clubs of Bangladesh, established in 1898.

The design concept was to depict the vibrant and rich history and culture of Wari as well as the old Dhaka with its people, places and festivals.
